Macro Data Analysis of Customs Import and Export Situation in May 2024

According to the General Administration of Customs data organized by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, as of May this year, the total import and export volume of automotive goods has seen a slight year-on-year increase.

May 2024 Overview:

• Total import and export volume of automotive goods: $26.38 billion, a monthly increase of 3.4%, and a year-on-year increase of 7.9%.
• Import amount: $6.07 billion, a monthly increase of 11.5%, and a year-on-year increase of 2.2%.
• Export amount: $20.31 billion, a monthly increase of 1.3%, and a year-on-year increase of 9.8%.

January-May 2024 Overview:

• Cumulative total import and export volume of automotive goods: $120.15 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%.
• Import amount: $27.25 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 8%.
• Export amount: $92.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%.
