For **Feng Bo**, the main person in charge of production at the New Car Preparation Technology Department of Dongfeng Nissan Manufacturing Headquarters, 20 years means dozens of car models, thousands of key issues, and countless trips. As a member of the Communist Party, Feng Bo actively plays the pioneering and exemplary role of Party members, striving to practice the spirit of craftsmanship for users to "build good cars" at Dongfeng Nissan, leading the team to analyze thousands of quality key issues, ensuring that more than a dozen new cars are put into production on schedule, and engraving the most beautiful footnote of youth with struggle.

🔍 Attention to Detail: Ensuring the Quality of New Car Production 🔧

In 2004, Dongfeng Nissan's Huadu new factory with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles was completed and put into production. It was also in that year that Feng Bo successfully joined Dongfeng Nissan, becoming a member of the manufacturing team, responsible for the trial production of new cars.

"New car trial production is prone to problems in quality, schedule, etc. For example, there may be major quality issues, or each stage cannot be tried on schedule, which in turn affects the SOP (mass production) schedule. As the main person in charge of new car production, it is necessary to bear the heavy responsibility of comprehensive management." Speaking of work, Feng Bo compares herself to the "overall window on the manufacturing side". The trial production of new cars is related to the verification of product development performance and goals, which is an important part of "building good cars" and cannot be careless. Not only is it necessary to organize new car model process planning, quality assurance and other work, but also to be responsible for digital simulation during the new car model design phase, promote the production line production preparation for new car models, organize and implement the physical trial production of new car models at various stages, and continuously optimize the standardized system for new car production preparation... Feng Bo pays attention to every detail and takes personal responsibility for everything.

When she first joined the company, Feng Bo was fortunate to participate in the trial production of Dongfeng Nissan's main model - Xuan Yi. "I just came to the company at that time, and the trial production of Xuan Yi's new car was carried out together with Nissan, and I was able to participate in it, which was very fulfilling." Feng Bo recalls. Since then, Feng Bo has successively led the trial production of new cars for models such as Sunshine, Li Wei, Tian Yue, Qi Da, Qi Chen M50V, Qi Jun, Qi Chen VX6 and other dozens of models. Among them are the global first pure electric car model of Nissan Motor - Ling Feng, and Dongfeng Nissan's first plug-in hybrid model - Qi Chen Da V DD-i and many other best-selling models.

🤝 Collaborative Efforts to Ensure New Cars are Put into Production on Schedule 🛠️

The work of new car trial production is complicated, and the team often includes members from various links such as development, engineering technology, parts, quality assurance, factory manufacturing, supply chain management, and logistics systems. Leading team members to fulfill their duties and grow together is naturally also a responsibility that Feng Bo needs to undertake as the main person in charge of production.

Feng Bo starts planning the operation plan and key work of difficult projects from the project planning stage, and she will also have full discussions and timely sorting out with the project team members on the key details and promotion methods. When team members encounter issues and difficulties, as a senior, Feng Bo will also take the initiative to coordinate resources for team members and work with project team members to jointly formulate plans to ensure unimpeded cooperation and efficient communication in the new car preparation process, and jointly promote the success of the project.

Of course, it is naturally not enough for a car product to go from drawings to the laboratory, from the production workshop to the streets, relying solely on the efforts of a single team. The smooth launch of Qi Chen Da V DD-i and VX6 is inseparable from the joint efforts of R&D, quality assurance, production and other departments, breaking through departmental, professional, and process restrictions, and jointly tackling important issues to ensure on-schedule production. Feng Bo said that in order to promote multi-departmental collaboration, Dongfeng Nissan has adopted a project responsibility system, and currently, both R&D and the manufacturing headquarters have been promoting large project systems in the development of agile models. Specifically, the project leader controls the overall development progress, and each field director is responsible for controlling the progress of the project in their field, through flat management, each fulfilling their duties and responsibilities.

🏋️‍♀️ Diligent Internal Training to Keep Up with the Pace of Industry Transformation 🛠️

The century-old automotive industry can continue to exude endless vitality because it never stops moving forward. Every car person in it also needs to continuously improve their professional ability. In recent years, the increasingly turbulent transformation of electrification and intelligence has brought obvious changes to Feng Bo's daily work, and continuous learning and continuous progress have become the daily life of her and her team.

"In the past, the focus of key issues for fuel car models was mainly on engine performance, transmission performance, and the static matching relationship of the whole vehicle, but hybrid models and pure electric models need to pay attention to vehicle functionality (electronic and electrical equipment, smoothness of the car machine system), NVH, and economy (hybrid fuel consumption, power consumption), etc." Feng Bo said that with the continuous deepening of industrial transformation, the focus of key issues in new car trial production work has also changed. To cope with this change, Feng Bo and team members will have more in-depth exchanges and sharing with the R&D team before the new car trial production, to understand the design intent of new technologies and new structures, in order to better achieve it in the process.

At the same time, under the concept of "building good cars from the customer's perspective" of Dongfeng Nissan, Feng Bo and her colleagues will also go deep into the front line for research, and understand the market early quality of the new car after the market launch, listen to user needs in the process of visiting the market, in order to introduce corresponding improvement measures, and promote the development and trial production of subsequent new cars. In January of this year, Feng Bo and colleagues from R&D, whole vehicle quality assurance, parts quality assurance and other departments conducted a market visit to Qi Chen Da V DD-i, to understand the quality of the vehicle in the early stage after the launch of the car and the problems and expectations encountered by users, while feeling the market's quality evaluation of the product. This research has made Feng Bo deeply feel the current user's focus on the car, the changes in the car scene, so after the research, she and her colleagues have enriched and improved the pre-factory evaluation items of the whole vehicle around the user's car scene.

Apart from the new challenges brought by new technologies and new fields, the increasingly fierce automotive industry has greatly shortened the new product R&D cycle, which brings higher difficulty to the new car trial production work. "The schedule has been shortened, but the vehicle quality standards and requirements are still improving, and the problem points will not decrease. So we can only work overtime to change the time, and the work rhythm is more compact." Feng Bo told reporters that the new car trial production often needs to be carried out on the production line and the inspection line to truly achieve the verification effect consistent with mass production. Therefore, during the period of being responsible for the new car project, she and her colleagues need to be on business trips for a long time, even up to one and a half years. In 2020, when Feng Bo was trying out a new car at Dongfeng Nissan's Zhengzhou base, it took a total of 13 months.

There is not much time to accompany the family, and guilt is inevitable, but Feng Bo said that the family's full support for her is the strong backing for her to persist in the struggle. "When I take my child out to play, I point to the car on the road and say which one is made by my mother. The child is very proud and says she wants to tell her classmates that this is the car made by my mother. I felt very satisfied when I heard it at the time." Feng Bo said.
