Recently, He Zhiqi, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of BYD's passenger car division, responded to netizens' doubts about the Tengshi Z9 GT being equipped with two climate control compartments on social media in China. He stated, "Some people think it's unnecessary to equip the Tengshi Z9 GT with two refrigerators, considering it as an over-configuration. After communicating with the designer, we believe it's quite necessary and has many use scenarios. Don't simply understand it as two refrigerators; in fact, it's two climate control compartments that can be cooled at the same time or one cold and one hot."
For example, when a father picks up his child, he can drink a cold cola while the child drinks hot milk, taking care of both adults and children. Or when picking up the child from school, after eating a hot meal, having an ice cream would make the child happier, right? Also, a lady can store facial masks in one refrigerator and use the other for heating, which is very convenient. They can also be used as refrigerators at the same time, which is very convenient for front and rear use. This is not over-configuration but taking care of different differentiated needs. Just like in your luxurious house, adding another refrigerator won't be laughed at for being overly extravagant. The Tengshi Z9 GT's front face adopts the Solar Diadem design, featuring a dual-star coronal front light group, inspired by the eruption of stars. The multi-functional combination of front lights includes intelligent driving functions of high and low beam lights and DLP pixel headlights. In terms of size, the vehicle's length, width, and height are 5180(5195)/1990/1480(1500)mm, with a wheelbase of 3125mm.
The new car adopts the Tengshi 2.0 cockpit design, with the central control part of the vehicle equipped with three screens: an instrument screen, a central control screen, and a co-pilot entertainment screen. In terms of comfort configuration, the front co-pilot seat provides a zero-gravity seat, which can be precisely matched with one click to adjust the seat cushion angle, length, backrest angle, and seat travel. The rear seats use a CLA scroll-type seat cushion length adjustment to create a more comfortable riding experience, and provide seat ventilation/heating and 10-point massage functions, with a rear central armrest as standard. It is worth mentioning that the Tengshi Z9 GT also provides front and rear intelligent climate control dual refrigerators, with a heating temperature of 35°C~50°C and a cooling temperature of -6°C~+6°C. The front refrigerator has a volume of 4L, which can accommodate 6 cans of cola, and the rear refrigerator has a volume of 10L, which can accommodate 2 bottles of champagne or 4 bottles of red wine, respectively located in the front and rear central armrests.
The Tengshi Z9 GT will offer both pure electric and plug-in hybrid models. The pure electric version is equipped with a front and rear three-motor drive, with a front motor rated at 230kW and a rear dual-motor rated at 240kW each, with a combined maximum power of 710kW (996 horsepower) and a top speed of 240km/h. In addition, the car will use a lithium iron phosphate battery from Jinan Fudi. The plug-in hybrid version of the Tengshi Z9 GT will be equipped with a BYD479ZQA 2.0T engine and a three-motor plug-in hybrid system. The engine has a maximum power of 152kW, and the motor has a combined maximum power of 640kW, with a top speed of 230km/h. Both versions of the car use an electric four-wheel drive transmission system.
