Automotive Export Report for May 2024

According to the analysis by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in May 2024, the export of automobiles grew rapidly year-on-year.

Monthly Automobile Exports

May 2024: Automobile exports reached 481,000 units, a decrease of 4.4% compared to the previous month, but a 23.9% increase compared to the same period last year. From January to May 2024, automobile exports totaled 2.308 million units, a 31.3% increase year-on-year.

Passenger Car Monthly Exports and Growth Rate

May 2024: Passenger car exports were 397,000 units, a 7.4% decrease from the previous month, but a 22.1% increase year-on-year.

From January to May 2024, passenger car exports amounted to 1.937 million units, up by 32% compared to the same period in 2023.

Commercial Vehicle Monthly Exports and Growth Rate

May 2024: Commercial vehicle exports were 84,000 units, a 12.6% increase from the previous month, and a 32.7% increase year-on-year.

From January to May 2024, commercial vehicle exports totaled 372,000 units, a 27.9% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Traditional Fuel Vehicle Monthly Exports and Growth Rate

May 2024: Traditional fuel vehicle exports were 383,000 units, a 1.8% decrease from the previous month, but a 36.6% increase year-on-year.

From January to May 2024, traditional fuel vehicle exports reached 1.789 million units, a 37.5% increase year-on-year.

New Energy Vehicle Exports and Growth Rate

May 2024: New energy vehicle exports were 99,000 units, a 13.3% decrease from the previous month, and a 9% decrease year-on-year.

From January to May 2024, new energy vehicle exports totaled 519,000 units, a 13.7% increase year-on-year.
