On June 25th, Audi unveiled the official images of the mid-cycle revised RS Q8 & RS Q8 Performance. As the top-tier performance version of the RS Sport series, this vehicle will be equipped with a higher power V8 engine, coupled with sports modifications to the body, chassis, brakes, and body kits, which will bring more powerful performance and handling than the Q8 & SQ8.
Like the Porsche Cayenne, the Audi Q8 family is also a product of the Volkswagen MLB evo platform. On this basis, Audi's latest eAWS active roll stabilization system is also applied to the performance version, which installs electronic anti-roll bars and planetary gear reducers on the front and rear axles, and can actively adjust the support of the left and right wheels according to the driving mode, ensuring smooth driving in comfort mode, and also allowing for lower roll in violent driving scenarios. In addition, from the body details, this car also achieves weight reduction of the whole vehicle through a large number of carbon fiber body components, including front and rear bumpers, exterior rearview mirrors and other details, plus the iconic large space oval exhaust port, full of combat sense.
At the same time, the performance also adopts a lighter exhaust system, which not only reduces weight but also has a more pleasant sound. Like the exterior, the interior of this RS Q8 & RS Q8 Performance has also been sports-modified, with a large amount of suede and carbon fiber panels in the interior, and the performance further highlights the combat cockpit atmosphere through red stitching. Of course, users can also personalize details, such as interior materials, seats, LOGO on the threshold, etc.
On the previous Audi SQ8, this Volkswagen EA825 4.0T V8 twin-turbo engine's data is 500 horsepower, a maximum torque of 770 Nm, with an 8AT gearbox and quattro four-wheel drive system, 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.1 seconds. In the new RS Q8 & RS Q8 Performance, the tuning of this V8 engine is more fierce, with a maximum power of 600 horsepower & 640 horsepower, a maximum torque of 800 Nm, 850 Nm, the whole car only needs 3.8 seconds to "break a hundred", and the latter 0-100 km/h acceleration time is compressed to 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 305 km/h.
Of course, Audi's best quattro full-time four-wheel drive system is naturally indispensable, the standard mode of power distribution between the front and rear axles is 40%:60%, at the same time, up to 70%, 85% of the power can be distributed to the front and rear wheels, which is one of the most typical features of the pure mechanical central limited slip differential.
